Altmill 4x4 Power Cable Lengths/Locations?

I ordered my Altmill 4x4 with the 2.2 kw spindle and am having trouble finding cable lengths on the Sienci site to figure out where to install outlets while I’m waiting for it to arrive. Also, is it a set corner on the machine where those cables are attached or is that flexible? I prefer not using any extension cords so looking for the maximum cable reach from wherever the cables are attached (right, left, center, back, front). Also considering rollers to pull it forward in case I ever want to tile a larger project which would stretch the cable 4 feet or so, so trying to figure out the most ideal outlet locations.

Thanks for any info or where I am missing finding this on the site!

I ended up waiting until the had the 4x4 built to determine where I was going to put the 220 outlet, I haven’t physically measured it but on the site it lists the length as 5 meters (NEMA 6-15P AC power cable and 5m spindle power cable) AltMill 2.2KW ER20 Spindle & Dust Shoe Kit | Sienci Labs

I wanted the ability to move mine around if I needed to and ended up ordering HOLKIE Leveling Stem Casters and 10x 304 M10 to M12 Stainless Steel Double End Threaded Studs (both off Amazon) as I didn’t want to drill the legs in case I wanted to go with the feet the machine came with.

There is probably a couple of feet, maybe more depending on where/how you mount & wire everything.
If you are wanting to eliminate extension cords then I would have the outlet installed within inches of where you plan to setup the AltMill.

For mine, basically following the instructions at the time, my power cords exit near the top of the back left corner - or 0, 0 looking at the top.

Thanks for pointing that out- I need to get used to seeing metric measurements! I figure most likely the drag chain would take 5 feet or so plus however it gets threaded through the frame, so a lot of that length will get eaten up, and I wasn’t sure if that would be a continuous run to the outlet or to a junction box or something on the frame. Probably just plan on the back left for the outlet location.

Thanks for the tip on the casters, I’ll check those out.

@dspangrude,
I got a chance to measure the length the “extra” power cord and from the back left leg there is roughly 36”. I have the VFD mounted on the front left as listed in the instructions.

Any chance or thought of mounting it above the machine. allowing unobstructed access all around the machine?

I did have that thought but that would mean replacing the garage door first… good excuse to move up that project but… it’s another project lol
