Altmill question and onefinity staff experience

@022580 I’m sure @gwilki will chime in with a reason for his comment. Fwiw, he’s not a Sienci employee. Rather, he’s a moderator trying to keep things civil and keep a post on topic.

I have never seen a complaint about Sienci being censored or deleted. I’m not sure what happens with posts about competitors but maybe he doesn’t want it to become a bitch-fest on this otherwise chill forum.

You will get scolded if you talk religion or politics tho. :winking_face_with_tongue:

@022580 dunno if you need an account to read this forum but I agree, it is creepy that he found you and associated your username with whatever you use there.

Since this has gotten far off the original topic, and there has been nothing added that refers to anyone’s Altmill experience. I’m closing the thread. I can appreciate that you are creeped out by the experience. Take that up with the people who creeped you out, not here.

Hey @022580 and others involved in the thread, just thought I’d jump in here to provide more context. Firstly, @022580 it’s wild to see the experience you’re sharing and by that I mean it’s alarming you’re seeing that behaviour in the Hobby CNC community which is meant to open, welcome, and uplifting, so I’m sorry for that.

I think there have been a few misunderstandings in this thread so just to clear the air:

  1. @gwilki is a great member of our community and is always doing his best to keep things on-topic.
  2. It seems there was a misunderstanding between who the OP was and who else was contributing to the conversation.
  3. This is an odd situation for us as a Company to be in since we try to create a positive space for people to ask questions and learn, and although it’s fair to say that people need to share their experiences so that others can know what to expect, we also need to draw a line somewhere. Till now, one of the things we try not to do as a Company is draw negative attention to others in the CNC space but we have yet to decide how to extend that rule to community discussion, so I think out of caution it made sense to stop this Topic from spiraling downwards.
  4. Since this is an open Forum, anyone can come on here and look through Topics without an account, so we really can’t stop who sees discussion on here (which I’m sorry isn’t comforting for your particular case @022580 )

I hope what I’ve outlined makes sense. In order to move forward, I’ve temporarily re-opened the thread in case there was any remaining discussion that anyone wanted to make toward their machine-buying decisions. I’d also be happy if people wanted to give feedback on our policy for handling threads like this into the future.

Dear fellow line walkers,

When I was looking for a suitable machine and stumbled upon Sienci’s machines, their website with all the technical manuals, blogs, and this forum, I knew something was off. Something was different, better, out of the ordinary. Something installed a confusing feeling that I could trust this company with my money and deliver on their promisses.

When you, for instance browse this forum , you are going to stumble upon topics about machine problems that end up with sienci replacing components, often well beyond their warranty period. That, my fellow oldfartshoutsatclouders, was what pulled sienci into my nostalgic heart. Here was a company that stood for what I thought was lost to time -costumer first-.

I think the post above reflects and enriches this feeling I have about sienci. This isn’t the run of the mill reaction we expect companies to legaly isolate their reputation with, this is a call to me as a costumer to understand and act, repay if you want, the old fashioned decency that sienci has been handing out so generously throughout the years. And though I like to step on and over lines, when called upon like this, I am happy to and maybe even obligated to myself to admit that I am an ass more times than I need to be.

So to compensate my asseyness a wee, I like this opertunety to express my gratitude towards the people that work so hard to let me know that parts of the world still holds the values thought lost. That they are nurtured and held at heart. Not by hollow words, but by actions that seem to go unnoticed in a world that seem to only listen to the loudest mouths.

Be assured, they are not unnoticed.

I love you all.

Requested by @Chucky_ott I include a hug emoticon.

Or at least something that looks like it, if you squint.
