AltMill + Spindle Power

The videos are impressive - full DOC, 3/4" plywood with compression bit. The comments in the video indicate this is a 2.2kW spindle.

Do you think the Altmill will succeed with the same cut with the planned 1.5kW spindle? Full DOC is essential for compression bits! I don’t mind buying just the AltMill and a seperate 2.2kW if that’s what is needed to achieve the goal.

I have a question also regerding the AltMill spindle. Supplied spindle is only a 3/8 shank max. what specs would a 1/2" collet spindle need to have in order to work with the spindle controller that you can order with the AltMill?
