So I had 2 issues with my dust shoe and Sienci labs sent a replacement. Replacement dust shoe fixed the bracket issue but its still dropping tools. Already sent details to support but want to check to see if anyone has any ideas?
So basically when i do a tool change, tool drop happens without issues but when it picks up the tool and moves towards the back to get the iso tool holder out of the mount, bottom half of the shoe drops. Here is the video i took.
Through process of elimination this white line is the cross over point. if i move the dust shoe bracket any lower, it drops, if i keep it at the white line or higher, it works perfectly fine.
@Altmillal1114 is it hitting anything? Looks like the inside front of the shoe hits the bracket as it moves back. I wonder if you can edit the ATC macro so that it doesn’t move as far back when clearing the tool rack. Just enough to clear the rack but not have the shoe touch.
Exactly what you typed. Inside of the shoe hits the tool rack as it moves forward . Yep probably have to wait the macro . Need to figure out how hopefully support can tell me
I have the same issue. I contacted Sienci and was told that they have a new shoe with stronger magnets for the ATC. Out of stock but due very soon. Danial said they’ll send the replacement once they arrive.
@Altmillal1114 To make sure, compare the magnet size or count on both shoes. The magnets themselves are likely not stronger so there are probably more of them (or bigger ones)
Regardless, if there is contact between the shoe and the rack, I doubt stronger magnets will fix it.
Good idea. I did a pull apart test and didn’t really see much difference. Support did ask if I had a yellow sticker with the old dust shoe but new one had no yellow sticker. I’ll check it when I get home

We’ve taken a closer look and believe we’ve identified what’s happening. It appears that, on some machines, the dust shoe can make slight contact with the tool rack during the tool pickup sequence. When that happens, it can cause the lower half of the dust shoe to release.
Our support team has already reached out to you with a video and a small adjustment that should prevent the contact from happening. We’ve tested this change here and it’s working as expected.
Please give that a try and let us know how it goes. If it doesn’t fully resolve the issue, we’ll continue working with you until we get ya sorted.
In my case it was my hose. It put too much pressure on the dust boot and caused it to nod. All I had to do was adjust the host to compress less and stretch out more. I sent you dm
