Just received my AutoZero touchplate Need some guidance on how to hook it up to my Genmitsu 4040 Pro. The 4040 probe port is 3 wire where the AutoZero is only two. Not sure what to do. I am using Gsender and as far as I can tell have followed the setup instructions. Just cant figure out how to plug it in.
Hey Jerry,
Welcome to the forum.
Iβve looked into the Genmitsu 4040 Pro and visited their webshop and resource page and as far as I can see they only have a z-probe to connect to the 3p connector.
I have not looked into people who have modded it to maybe use that probe connector to work with a xyz probe, but it seems there is no such thing available for your machine.
Maybe fleeze the Genmitsu forum (if there is such thing) for topics about using an xyz probe on your machine?
Thanks Eddie,
I already have the Z probe. Just want to upgrade to that XYZ platform. I will check out those Genmitsu discussions.
Iβve looked at some vids about this probe and it seems a pure conducting probe.
What happens if you connect the crocodile clamp of the ssz probe to the mill. Place the xyz plate at where you want to probe xyz, tape the zprobe conducting surface to the side of the auto touch probe, select the auto probe in gsender and start the probing proces? (The zprobe needs to be connector to your machine.)
Just to see if one could even use the auto probe via the native controler of your machine.
Please be on allert with estop button or on/off buton while doing this experiment.
Iβve been through the same issue, so itβs pretty easy, you can crimp a 3 pin connector and use only the middle and right one (when looking at the white connector, where you see the metal pins), magnet goes to the right, touchplate to the middle one. The left pin is to power the LED on the genmitsu one.
Works just fine on mine with the standard macros in Gsender.
Thanks Cedricg I will give this a try. I appreciate your input.
Cedric, I wired it up per your instructions and it works great. Thank you. I know I will enjoy and appreciate using this tool for my set ups. Once again thanks.
