Hi, Does anyone know of a company that makes a camera system for the cnc like a laser company that can help with alignment of wood and projects? I am not sure if Vectric software would support this but I would be curious if anyone has had success with something like this?
I use a camera above a part of my machine bed to import a calibrated picture of irregular stock into vcarve. It works pretty accurate.
I have some posts about the overal setup here:
If you like me to go in depth on how to get a calibrated picture from lightburn to vcarve, I’ll be haappy to. Vcarve unfortu ately doesn’t support camera input (yet).
I use it mainly to allign carves with laser etches and to design carves onto irregular projects. It works well, once you work out all the weird headaches and brainbreaks.
It’ll take some time. It’s not a small tutorial and I’m sure to drift off topic with my short attention heyasquirl!!!. I might make it a topic on it’s own to maybe do this in stages to cover as much detail as I can and be able to drift and do a wheely on the fly heyanotherone!!, when-not-if I feel the need.
