I’m a complete newbie to CNC and just starting to learn VCarve. I’m working on a basic project where I want to add a native clip art component (a beer stein) in VCarve. However, I can’t seem to get the clip art included in my toolpath. I’ve been searching the Internet (and this board), but can’t find an answer. Any help would be appreciated.
Hi David,
There might be more issues to it, having to do with model settings but I think your main thing is.. the material needed to have your model carved has been pocketed out. It’s gone.
You have kept the material for the est1935 part and essential that is how you do it with the model too. Create an outline of the model and include that to the pocket toolpath, like you did with the est1935 part.
I believe I have done something like this and offsetted my ouline a wee to the outside to have the toolpaths of the pocket and the model overlap at the pocket depth somewhat. Factualy, that is just semantics. When you can work the model into your project, you’ll figure the details out.
I like how you see this rather deep dive into vcarve and cncing as basic. You are correct, they’re basic.. on it’s own.. but you worked 3 basics into one project. That counts as ambicious in my book.
Go get em Tiger!
