Configurations are not working

I got my Altmill 4x4 in January. I have set the sensors to 2 mm on each. I must be doing something wrong because it crashes when it goes to a corner and Alarm 10 all the time. I have reset all configurations but I have never been able to even surface my machine and here it is mid March. Very frustrated. Even when I clear an alarm 10, I have to push and turn the knob about 5 times to get it to clear. I don’t understand why there aren’t clear instructions on how to set the configurations up so I can use soft limits and not crash. Sometimes when I tell it to go to the front right it goes to the front middle.

I wish I could hire someone to come and set up my machine and walk me through what I am missing.

Scienci has only provided that I contact the community forum. I live in Gold Canyon Arizona and am willing to pay money to get someone to help me set this up or sell it.

Thank you for allowing me to vent, but a $5500 dollar investment is a rather large footprint that doesn’t work in my garage.

@rratcliff69 Sorry for your frustration as you have been at this for a while.

Did you ever follow the steps in this thread: I wish I could Hire someone to help me! I will pay well - #2 by Chucky_ott

I don’t recall having seen your response anywhere. As the saying goes, help us help you.

Sorry to hear about your experience so far, altmill is a great machine once you get it setup so keep the faith and don’t give up. My initial advice is to turn soft limits off until you can get the sensors dialed in and get it homing properly. The sensor configuration was a little confusing for me at first and the black caps they screw into was different than what I had on my long mill and a little different than the instructions as I remember. I believe found an addendum that explained a slightly different setup. On my setup the sensors screwed into the caps fully. When you try to home the machine watch the red lights on the back of the sensors to ensure they are detecting the proximity the metal plates as they approach (if no light then the sensors are too far way or they aren’t working properly).
