Cutting below the bottom of the feet

Iā€™d like to be able to carve into a floor. Or, to be able to set the LongMill completely on top of a large workpiece. That would mean the bit would have to extend below the feet which would have to be screwed to a frame with a hole in the middle.

Has anybody tried this? I assume an extra long bit or a collet extender might be part of the deal. Sort of fake out what zero is.

With the router mount in the lower position the nut on the Makita is about even with the bottom of the feet with Z all the way down. So you can cut below the feet approximately the length of your bit minus the amount in the collet.
