Default file opening

I would prefer if gSender did not open the last open file when gSender is opened. For those who prefer the current setting, perhaps this could be a preference in the Settings panel.

Has it always done that? I’m running the latest Edge build and I ran some files earlier today so I just booted up the PC to check and the files I ran are in the recent files list but no file was loaded.

It’s possible that my OS lacks something needed for that to happen. It uses less than 300MB of ram idling just to give an idea of how bare bones it is.

@_Michael @gwilki My gSender (currently v.1.5.7) has never reopened the previous file either.

I’m also a bit confused because this isn’t a feature - Edge does have file associations to let you double-click a file outside gSender to open gSender/open the file in gSender but we don’t reopen your last file and never have.

@Chucky_ott @_Michael @KGN I just opened this topic because it’s been far too long since I publicly humiliated myself on the forum.
It’s my process that is the issue. I tend to leave my shop PC running 24/7 unless I am doing windows updates. When the PC is on, gSender is running. Being impatient, I don’t like the wait time for gSender to open. (The new Edge eliminates this.) So, at the end of my CNC day, I simply disconnect gSender and kill the power to the SLB. Next time, I power up the SLB and connect. Of course, gSender never closed, so if I have forgotten to close the file before disconnecting, the file is still in gSender, ready to run again.
I apologize for taking your time away from more relevant issues. I’m closing this topic to spare myself any further embarrassment. :upside_down_face:
