I have the Longmill MK2, spindle(&SLB). I am not quite pleased with the current mount as I don’t think it is sturdy enough, and I can never get it trammed perfectly. I wanted to know if anyone out there has used this mount and has had better results. Thanks!
I have the PWN spindle mount. It is a good heavy-duty mount. you need an adapter plate to mount it on the long mill as stated on their web site. If you use the Sienci laser the tapped hole pattern on the front of the mount does not match the laser fyi. For that reason I went back to the Sienci 80 mm mount.
Thanks for the info, I appreciate that.
i wonder why you don’t get one of those “square” 2.2kw er20 or even one with er25 spindles with vfd
Well, I can confirm that the PWN spindle mount for the LongMill MK2 is much, much better than the standard one from Sienci. Tramming the spindle is a lot easier now, and the whole unit is more robust. With the old mount, I could grab the spindle and move it around, but with this new mount, there is effectively no movement. The only thing you will have to do is put a piece of metal on the mount so the limit sensor can engage.
Hopefully, this helps someone out there on the internet looking to upgrade their mount and wants more precise cuts/movements.
