Upgraded from Longboard to SLB on an MK1 32x48 (with MK2 Gantry). Aside from erros groing over 3000mmps on the Longboard, it ran error free. I wipped my windows and reinstalled gSender too.
Whenever I run homing, it suceeds but then kicks Error 1. The Guide says ā¦Error 1 during Homing**: make sure $39 is turned on. It is turned on, and I maticuluously went through the settings. Nothing seems to remove the error. Also I am on a Makita. I hooked up a spindle on RS485 and the SLB refused to acknowlage there was a spindle. Error 14 (which I understand means spindle not detected). To make it simple, I went back to the Makita and will deal with spindle connection later. But this initial error is really getting to me.
Also I enabled homing on opening gSender and it never locks or asks me to home. it did on the old longboard. What gives with that?
I also reflashed the firmware on the SLB to make sure it wrote properly. Also when I reset the firmware, it does not reset all the settings to default, just half of them.
Did I get a bad SLB or something?
Firmware version: 5.0.5
Sender: gSender 1.4.8
Relevant tested files: Have not even run a job yet. Want error codes gone before I waste material.
Well I suppose I should be clear about that. Itās assumed that if Iāve reflashed the firmware I would have power cycled it. Iāve been out this for 2 days on this piece of garbage SLB. Also it was implied that by reinstalling windows I would have rebooted it too. There doesnāt seem to be a single setting that fixes it. Iāve been hearing nothing but nightmares of the SLB. I probably shouldnāt have ordered it
Well I do have some good news pertaining to the issues that Iām having. Talk to Chris and it does seem to be a bug with g sender. Theyāre supposed to be a fix coming for it very shortly. So now I can stop having a panic attack because Iām trying to finish projects lol. So if anyone else is having error one on homing and that line is enabled, just ignore it for now as long as itās not interfering with your projects. I believe Chris said heās going to post an update pertaining to this as well
Yes the fix for Error 1 is one that should be coming through on the next gSender version in the next couple days. Luckily itās just an issue of it looking like something is going wrong, but itās just a false flag that unfortunately just scares people that something is going wrong when things are fine.
