I am using a Yorahome 3036 Mandrill with a rotary axis. I have imported a 3d model into Vcarve Desktop and have created both a roughing and finishing toolpath. I have then used gsender rotary surfacing tool to successfully round my square stock. Then I loaded my roughing toolpath which worked well. When I loaded the finishing toolpath and start the carve the bit just plunged straight down into the material and I was forced to stop the carve. This has happened on several attempts.
I have been watching your videos and they are very informative but I would love to see one that shows the whole process of creating both roughing and finishing toolpaths and the process of loading and running both. Including zeroing and probing.
@tyoung17 Welcome to the group, Trent.
I am moving your question to the Vectric software category. Your request for information on creating roughing and finishing toolpaths is not gSender related. As you know, those toolpaths are created in VCarve.
There are many videos showing how to set up and run rotary projects. Several are done by Vectric, others by 3rd parties. On the Vectric forum, there are very knowledgeable members who have published excellent tutorials on rotary carving. Milo Scott is one who comes to mind.
Zeroing and probing are gSender functions, and Sienci has complete information on their site on doing both those functions.
Finally, there are members here who can likely help with any specific questions.
