[FIXED] gControl Panel - Black Screen (2025)

I have 2 week old gControl Panel on my new Altmill. It was working fine until today.

When I went to boot it up-

  1. Turn rocker switch to ON, red light lit
  2. Push and hold silver button- after approx 2 seconds an audible beep sounds
  3. That’s it. Nothing on the screen.

What I’ve tried:

A) Redo the process above multiple times.
B) Hold silver switch multiple until beep - multiple times with different wait periods between
C) Unplugged from wall, then steps A & B
D) Plugged into different outlet, then steps A & B

The PC may be working and it’s only the screen but I don’t have an easy way to get a monitor to the machine to use the hdmi port.

Open to suggestions. Thanks!

[Note- I added 2025 to this post title to differentiate from a similar 2024 post that was supposedly a hardware issue that’s was fixed last year]

@HonestKnifeCo if you plug in a usb keyboard, you might hear it chime/beep if it’s actually on. If you have it networked, you might be able to see it on your router and/or access the share (not sure if it was accessible by default).

The HDMI display might be your only other option short of opening a support ticket with Sienci.

FIXED- On a whim I tried powering it on while holding the silver button at the same time. It booted right up. :thinking:

I did not see this in any of the documentation.

Hope this can help someone else.

@HonestKnifeCo Interesting. I would have expected the hard reboot by disconnecting the power cord would have been sufficient.
