First post here ⦠looked around for someone else whos been down this road and came up short, so here goes ⦠and Iām not sure this is in a good place for this so feel free to suggest a better one.
Iām in the process of commissioning the 4x4 Altmill and so far the assy. and initial movement is all good. Now Iām waiting on a spindle (theoretically here Sat).
Anyway, my question here is this: does anyone know how to set the bios on the gControl pc / tablet to boot when power is applied (no fiddling with the down facing button). I want to have the PC and gsender controller come on together via switched power strip.
In my experience there is typically a setting in bios that determines how the system is to proceed when power is initially applied. Generally the choices are [off|on|last state] or similar. In this case, I was unable to find anything that looked familiar but I eventually found the following (seemed a long shot and did not work)
: Access bios by repeatedly hitting del; Select -ADVANCED; Select-SUPER I/O CONFIGURATION ; Options here are- āRestore AC Power Loss By IOā - Options are Last State / On / Off .
I donāt know what āSuper IO Configurationā is good for but thought it looked promising. At this point Iām stymied by the lack of information on the bios (American Megatrends (AMI) bios v.5.27 (on the one I have)) that would indicate if itās even possible in this case.
Is there a technical resource for the guts / nitty gritty of the gcontrol bios?
Silver bullets are welcome, Iād settle for witty banter too.
Dan
