Grease Y-Axis Rail on the right

I am having a heck of a time getting my grease gun coupler onto this fitting. This is the left side y-axis ball screw. All the other fittings were accessible, but this one doesn’t have enough clearance on the top to connect the coupler.

I was able to get to mine but it was a bugger.
What I’d like is some other recommendations other than Mobil products. Used AMSOIL for the grease but couldn’t find an equivalent for the other lubricants.

As far as I know all you need is the EP2 grease. It’s an either / or lubricant - use the oil or use the grease. At least that is how the maintenance section reads.

waiting on a thin/small connector from Amazon. Hopefully that will fit.

  • Mobil Vactra No. 2 oil
  • Mobil EP 2 grease

The EP 2 equivalent was easy, its the Vactra No 2 alternative that I’m struggling to find.

Right, but the relevant paragraph in the maintenance schedule is this one:

Lubricate – Unfasten the outer button head screw from each linear guide block. Apply the Mobil Vactra No. 2 oil using a pipette or syringe to the hole until it flows out. Or use Mobil EP 2 grease with a grease gun and the appropriate M4 threaded grease fitting.

OR - meaning you can oil OR use the grease - you don’t need both. I just use the grease all around.

That’s how I read it originally but after reading more of the process, it seemed to be that the EP 2 was meant for the zerks & screws and the Vactra was meant for the slides.

If what you are stating is accurate then great but would love Sienci to confirm. There is a big difference between EP 2 and Vactra No 2 with the latter being a very specific and not common lubricant.

Update to the ZerkFitting - I was able to flip the ballscrew by taking the 6 bolts out and rotating it 180 degrees. The filling is now on the bottom and very easy to access. Thank you to Joe Moceri from the FB group for the suggestion!

I can see that, but the very specific language around using an M4 fitting to apply the grease makes me think it’s fine to use.
