Gsender control software

Hello, this is my first post and thinking of purchasing a Sienci CNC router.

I already have a CNC machine and Iโ€™m familiar with motion control software such as UCCNC and

Centroid Acorn.

I would like to get a feel for Gsender before purchase and would like to know if I can download a version and give it a try without being connected to a machine.

Thanks, Peter

@pandrade82ndAB Welcome to the group, Peter.

The best way to do what you want would be to buy an Arduino Uno, flash it with the grbl, then connect to it with gSender. If you buy the Uno from Sienci, it is already flashed to look like a Long Mill. You donโ€™t say what model you are considering buying, but even if you choose to go with the AltMill, playing with an Uno that looks like a Long Mill will help you to see if gSender is for you.

Iโ€™m planning on a Altmill.

Thank you, appreciate the help..

Peter

@pandrade82ndAB I figured as much. The Uno will still let you simulate jogging and running gcode. It will not have all the bells and whistles of an AltMill, but I found it helpful when I was starting out. I still use it to test new versions of gSender as they come out.
