Hello, I’m a beginner trying to learn and understand the CNC world, I have a cheap entry-level machine (Two Trees - TTC 450), made in China. I’m using the Trial version of Vectric VCarve 12 with g-Code as Post-Processor and GSender. I generated a path file in VCarve and running directly on the machine it ran without problems. Using the same file through GSender, the program ends abruptly, and in the error message I see: ERROR - Feeder Error 3 - GRBL $’ System command was not recognized or supported. The error is not consistent, it does not always occur in the same line of code, sometimes it runs until the end without errors and searching through the G-Code, there is no “$” character.
All GSender settings are almost by default in the installation.
@MFoz I have move your topic to the Vectric category.
I assume that you are trying one of the sample files from Vectric since they are the only files that you can actually run.
You should choose grbl mm as your post processor. it doesn’t matter if you are designing in inches. The mm post processor will give you better results.
Hello @gwilki , thank you for taking the time to answer my question.
Yes, I’m using an example file from VCarve and I’m going to change the Post-Processor to GRBL mm and test.
Hello, let me update you with the tests I performed.
I made the modification as suggested by @gwilki, and when running the same VCarve test file, GSender closed abruptly. I ran GSender again, opened the same file, positioned the Spindle at the same X0, Y0 & Z0 position and restarted the file, which ran correctly until the end. I can’t understand why the error occurs the first time and not the second time.
To try to reproduce the error, I took a test file provided by Two Trees itself that comes with the TTC 450.
I started the file and at approximately 1:32 min the error occurred again, as shown in the video Here.
Now I’m sure that the error is not related to VCarve or the TTC 450, but to GSender.
OK, since I didn’t get any help directly from the GSender developers, not even a temporary answer, and I tried everything possible, generating the file with different Post-Processors, using 2 different notebooks, 2 different interface cables and running the same Toolpath directly on the machine without any kind of error, my only possible conclusion is that the problem is exclusively with GSender and although I like the interface and features, I am definitely abandoning GSender.
Thanks to those who tried to help me.
