Setting up a new 4040 Reno. Got everything to work except the Z-axis is giving me grief. If I ask Gsender to move the router 50 mm, it only moves 10 mm. I used the “Movement tool” in Gsender to try and correct this. Gsender suggested changing the default value of 314.961 to 1574.81. I tried to enter that value in Grbl. I promptly got a “error 3”, which is telling me that I have exceeded the limit for $102 (z-axis). I played around with different values and could only go up to 1075 before I got that error again. With the grbl setting of 1075. now my Z movement is 38 mm for a request of 50 mm. Checking to see what I’m doing wrong!
Where did you get that default value? A quick scan of the firmware settings for your machine didn’t show anything like that. It’s likely that I looked in the wrong place.
