Home Position after Job Complete

Sorry if this has been asked before but quick googling wasn’t turning up much.

Instead of the alt mill returning all the way back to the back left corner on job complete, any way to set an alternate position to keep it closer to the front for example?

When my jobs finish, the spindle goes to XY zero (as defined in the g-code). I use Vectric vCarve but your CAM software may use a different stop position.

The last lines on all my jobs:

M5
G0Z15.000
G0X0.000Y0.000
M2

M5 stops the spindle
G0Z15 raises the spindle to the safe Z I have defined in vCarve
G0X0.000Y0.000 moves the spindle to XY0
M2 marks the end of the job

I make my programs in fusion. The altmill always heads back to “home” which is the back left corner default on the altmill.

This is something I should change in my program then? Not in gsender?

I’m guessing your g-code ends with a g28 command ?

It would be in Fusion but I’m not exactly sure how. You probably have to manually edit the post-processor you are using.

in vCarve, there’s no direct option to change the location. I would have to edit the post-processor there too:

The relevant lines for my Post Processor in a text editor:

±--------------------------------------------------

  • Commands output at the end of the file
    ±--------------------------------------------------

begin FOOTER

“M5”
“G0[ZH]”
“G0[XH][YH]”
“M2”
