I can jog Z and Y axis but not x axis. Machine will home but not in the x axis. I have uninstalled and installed gsender but still does not fix the issue. Any suggestions will be appreciated.
Thanks

What kind of machine do you have?
Altmill 48 x 48 with spindle and gsender control computer.
I think the first step is to figure out if it’s a mechanical or electrical issue. I’d verify that the X lead screw can be turned by hand without much difficulty to rule out mechanical.
If the motor doesn’t make any noise when you try to jog X then it could be the motor or wiring. You could swap the Z and X plugs on the SuperLongBoard-EXT. Then you would try to jog the Z and see if the X moves. If the X moves when connected to the Z of the SLB-EXT then the motor and wiring is good. If it doesn’t move then it’s time to check the wiring and motor.
To check the motor and wiring I’d use a process of elimination by trying the X motor with a cable from a different axis. To check the X cable try running a different motor with it.
If you haven’t checked the wiring at all yet I’d start by making sure all plugs look okay. Pushed in all the way, no wires pulled out etc before doing a deep dive like above.
After checking the motor, wiring etc.. I found a loose connection for the x axis motor.
Thank you for your help Michael, appreciate it.
Awesome, I’m glad I added the bit at the end so you caught it before taking things apart!
I’m glad it was an easy fix. Take care.
@ _Michael, @Chad - This forum is what helps make Sienci the great company it is. A major problem for a new Altmill user fixed by a fairly simple wiring issue suggestion from a longtime experienced user. I think it’s great to have so many willing to jump in and help without having the new users wait on contact from Sienci. Sienci has helped so many of us in the past that we can now help solve problems a lot quicker. Not knocking Sienci but they deserve weekends off just like us.
Agreed, Its great that there are people out that are willing to lend their expertise for those of us just starting out. Thanks again!!
