I am having a weird issue with gSender. I upgraded my ProverXV4030 to a closed loop motor system which included a new controller. Now gSender doesn’t work. If I Home the router, it works normally, goes to the back right corner as expected. I can then jog in the “X” direction or move the spindle, “Z”, up & down. However, as soon as I try to jog in the “Y” direction, the unit ;locks up. I need to disconnect, reconnect but it does the same thing.
If I go back to my previous controller software by OpenBuilds, everything works fine. I was using V1.4.7 so I went back to V1.4.6 but the same thing happened.
Any suggestions?
Thanks,
Jim
@Jimc137 Does it lock up no matter which direction in Y you try to jog?
Yes, it’s strange. From the home position, I can move the X either way as well as the router but when I try to jog the Y, I hear a buzz in the motors and then it locks up. Since it is in the back corner, I really can only move the Y forward, if I try to go back, I would guess it would set off the limit switch.
Do you have endstops? Sometimes turning off hard and soft stops lets you trouble shoot more effectively.
Do you mean limit switches? If so, yes I do have them.
The upgrade I made essentially made it ProverXL 4030 V2. I wonder if anyone has had any issues with the V2 unit?
Yes - sorry, that’s my 3D printing heritage showing.
What I did when setting up a new controller was to disable both soft and hard limits (as shown below) until I got my switches tested and my distances checked for soft limits. Then I was able to home properly, and then re-enable the hard and soft limits.
May not be your issue - but worth a thought.

I have this same issue. For me it has been present for all versions past 1.3.10. I have tried turning off hard and soft limits, changing computers, changing usb cable between computer and arduino uno, better shielding on wiring, etc. Nothing works except going back to version 1.3.10 (which works without issue except for some minor UI things).
Good to know that it isn’t me. Like I said, I can use the OpenBuilds controller without issue so ruled out the laptop, cables, etc. I went back to the previous version without any luck but I may go back further to the 1.3 version.
I had no issues with the the V1 controller so it must be a compatibility issue.
