I hope I am in the right place
I have had my long mill 4830 for over a year with absolutely no issues. It’s been an incredible machine that I’ve enjoyed every time I use it however today. I have a problem with my Z up and down it doesn’t matter which arrow I press it just goes, whatever way it wants, and I managed to wreck a project. It was almost completed. Any advice or guidance would be appreciated.
@Woodntales Welcome to the group, Cam.
You’ve posted this in the UGS category. Are you using UGS as your LongMill controller?
While waiting for your reply, it will help members to help you if you give a bit more information. First, what has changed since yesterday when the machine worked fine? it may not be an obvious thing, but clearly something has changed. For example, have you changed the version of your control software; have you changed the PC that controls the Long Mill, etc?
I suggest checking the wiring on the Z-axis to make sure they are secure. Loose wires can cause the axes to move unexpectedly
