I apologize if this is the wrong section to ask this question…
I have recently been trying to cut a guitar neck on my CNC(LongMill MK2, 30x30, Spindle) and have had a few issues that I wanted to see if anyone else has had them as well.
Some of the problems have been that my cuts would not be where they are supposed to be, and when I asked this question on the Fusion forums, a couple of folks said most likely this would be my motors skipping steps. I have never had this issue before(after about a year of use), so this is new to me.
I have gone through and checked every single nut and bolt, trammed to the best of my ability(Longmill doesn’t have a good way for this, in my opinion, and I like my stuff to be accurate), made sure everything on the machine is correctly fastened, etc. A few people have suggested that I cut the feed rate down some, which I did for my last cut job, but there was a misaligned cut once again. And this is after going through the simulation in Fusion over and over again to find anything.
I suppose my question is one…should I keep lowering my feed rate even more drastically? I know the machine can handle these cuts even at a safe rate, but what would that rate be to avoid the skipped steps?
Second…is there something in the Firmware that should be changed to help alleviate this problem on the SuperLongboard?
Thank you
