I was wondering if using a 1.5" diameter surfacing bit is possible on the MK2. I would like to speed up the surfacing if i can.
I used an 1-1/2" surfaced bit on my router, you make sure you chuck it up deep in the collet are the shaft will bend.
I use the 1.5” surfacing bit from @IDCWoodcraft. Very nice finish and the feed and speed is very good.
Thanks. Unfortunately the one from IDC is currently out of stock. I will see what i can find elsewhere.
I used the IDC Woodcraft 1.5" to do the spoiler board, but the 1" for projects. The 1" I can still use the dust boot.
The Makita gets hot with the 1.5"
It does it, but I think it’s pushing it outside it’s comfortable zone.
