I recently upgraded to the SLB. When testing my laser this afternoon I am seeing an issue. When the machine makes it first rapid move in Gsender the laser is on. This has never happened before. I use Lightburn to program and Gsender to control the machine. I have checked my gcode file and it is the same as it has been in previous files in regards to the M4 Command. I have to assume I am missing a setting in the SLB or possible something is wired incorrectly?? Any help would be appreciated
I should add that I did extend the wires that came with the 48x30 kit as I wanted to put the driver on the front of my table and they wouldn’t quite reach otherwise. Could that be part of the issue?
@Phildo I just verified that I had $743=0 set on mine. In the firmware window this shows as both sliders are off. Now, this assumes that you have $30, $31 and $32 set properly.
Your mileage may vary, so be sure to test on scrap and report back on your results.
Question: If you run the file from LB, do you have the same issue?
@gwilki Let me take a look in the morning and let you know. I have never run the machine from lightburn. Only used it for programming. I tried tonight and that created a whole other set of issues that I can’t make sense of at the moment
So I managed to solve the issue with the laser. It ended up being that I had the plug into the longboard into the 2 wrong pins.
I do have another issue all of a sudden. When I set my zero for the project with the router. Use the laser slider in gsender to offset to my laser and then I start the program. For some reason the machine moves to the starting point but with the router as zero instead of the laser. Not sure if that makes any sense but it does not seem to take the offset into consideration when the program runs even though I have set that to zero with the offset. Any ideas?
@gwilki after doing some testing it seems to be only an issue when I attempt to do lasering in a different workspace. In my case, I was using G57. When I repeat the exact same procedure in G54 I have no issues. I have tested this 5 times. I then went back to G57 and tested again and it caused the same issue as noted above. I believe I may have found a GSender bug
