Lightburn and gSender not playing well together

After first installing the Sienci Labs seven watt laser and designing with light burn I had no problems burning wood and leather projects.

Around Christmas of 2025 everything seem to start acting up. I was unable to get my spindle to turn on or run tool paths. After several troubleshooting sessions online, Sienci Labs replaced my SLB EXT two times. The second one worked like it should for spindle work but the laser would not shut off between burning paths.

I wonder if anybody else has that problem or if could suggest settings in lightburn I might try. It was so easy when I first installed it as you could just click the G code button, put it on a USB stick and insert it into the gSender computer

Hey Tom,

A quick search in the forumgot me this one post about laser not turning off. It’s a golden oldy but might be your solution too.

Laser is staying on when travelling

@Botanywood OK, here is what I suggest. Instead of using the laser module in gSender, go into console. Enter $32=1 and hit enter. Then, enter $30= whatever you set Smax to in LB, and hit enter.

If I do this do I just leave G. send her in spindle mode?

You should enable Laser mode with the instructions provided by Sienci (see link)
