Use Garrets design. No need for the t tracks. It is a option.
IDC woodcraft
I went initially with Garretâs from IDC Woodcraft. But began pouring over YouTube and Etsy looking for the perfect spoilboard for my 48x30.
I finally settled on a design I found on YouTube from a guy with a very very few posts. He did something I had not seen before.
He used 3/4 inch plumbing water pvc pipe as his stops and drilled corresponding holes for them. And he created a smaller more manageable spoilboard to use on top of the main board. Far easier to work with on 90% of projects.
If you are interested, I will track down the video.

Hello David, thank you for your response. I would be interested in that video, but only if it doesnât take you too much effort to find.
Kindly,

I found it.
What my buddy across the street and I did was omit the hardest part âŠthe threaded inserts or T Nuts and the T-Track. We just donât see the need.
We also use a big grid of 3/4" holes to accept 3/4" PVC plumbing pipe. The primary clamping is done with spacer boards and 6" to 8" very narrow wedgesâŠnothing moves. If you hit the PVC, the bit just goes through it like butterâŠno damage and you can probably still use the pipe againâŠjust nicked.
We also use cam clamps as well. He mentions theyâŠwe donât screw them downâŠwe just use one of the PVC pipe and place the cam over the pipe with its own 3/4" hole. There are lots of cam files on Etsy!
After you watch, youâll see also, his smaller spoil board that goes on top of the main board. We made ours a little larger.
This all avoids the expense and time-consuming process of the hand done inserts or T Nuts. Plus, you can chew up the little board without any worry. Your CNC will make another one cheap, quickly and easy.
Once you install threaded inserts or T Nuts once, you will N E V E R want to do it again.

Hi David,
Thank you for the link to the video. Great and very helpful ideas! I am still in the process of mounting my board to my table that will include the Vortex system and a Moxon Vice.
I am located in Nashville TN.
