New computer problems zeroing

Installed a new Windows 11 computer and reinstalled Gsender 1.4.11 I have movement of the machine and homing but I am unable to zero the individual axis or use the Zero all function. I wrote down all the firmware settings but they do not come up the same on this download . Any thoughts

@coffeewood Welcome back, Doug.

What machine do you have, and if it is a Long Mill, what controller are you using? Finally, have you made any changes to the firmware settings before you switched to the new computer, or are all the settings at the default values?

I had the exact same thing happening when I tried to connect to my Altmill with grbl rather than grblHAL Everything seemed to work but I could not manually enter a number in the axis position box nor could I set the axis to zero.
IIRC, the condition survived a power cycle and the only way was to go into the settings screen, reset everything to default and then reconnect to the mill making sure to use the right language setting.

I am still using the original 30x30 Longmill that has been updated with the SLB .I just finished a major carving project yesterday with the machine with no problems. I swapped out the Windows 10 computer with a new Windows 11 unit. I downloaded Gsender 1.4.11 . I can run the machine but I cannot zero any axis all programming is still at the default settings

@coffeewood You didn’t, by chance, connect with grbl instead of grblHal, did you?

edit: I didn’t see @Jens post. Sorry, Jens.

no it is connected on

it is connected on Grbl

@coffeewood It should be on grblHal

Not quite sure why but I was able to change all of the firmware settings back to the ones I wrote down. First time I went through the settings I could not access toggles for individual axis. Longmill is back up and running properly
