Anyone installed the new style bump stops? The 3D printed ones? I get that you only put inductive sensors in the back end plates but do you only put the new style bump stops in the front plate? It"s not really clear in the directions. Thoughts?
I wasn’t sure what you were referring to so had to look at the instructions again. Looks like machines shipped after July have integrated bump stops. Mine was shipped in May and had rubber stops. Not sure what the difference is but it looks like they install the same way?
I read the instructions again because it wasn’t really clear for me either. Looks like there are four of these integrated bump stops. Two install at the front with cap screws, two install at the back but screw into the inductive sensor instead of using cap screws
Thanks…that is what I did but it confused me at first. I do know one thing…dont let the assembly video be your only source for putting it together.
Cruel to only hint at the solution and not name it.
But to anyone reading this topic. Every time I get stuck building something, (especial Ikea goop) the solution is a few crates of cheap beer and broke mates looking for an alcoholic handout. (End of the month is a good time to assemble.)
Big plus is you always get a pile of left over screws and other weird components to grow the mountain of mystical hardware. I love my ever growing impaired assembly treasure chest!
It squeaks and groans when you open it!
Chucky had the solution. It is really not difficult it was just that the instructions seem a little unclear. You take an inductive pick up and plut a nut and lock washer on it. You then insert it in the hole on the rear plates of the Y rails. They give you a hard plastic cap that screws onto the pick up after you put it in the hole. You screw it on until it bottoms out on the sensor. You then tighten the nut on the backside of the plate. You do this to both Y rail back plates. On the front plates you use a screw to hold one of the same plastic caps on to the backs of the front Y brackets. Its funny because they dont really look like bump stops. They kinda look like caps that you would would screw on air conditioning lines on cars with a small hole in them. In the video, which I was watching for assembly until I got this point, they dont talk about the new bump stop. You need to look at the video and the directions in my opinion. I thought at first they had shorted me the bump stops but they did not. Is that clear as mud?
I think cheap beer was part of the problem with my build!
It always is, but how else to build the mystical component collection.
We have a saying in our village, If you can’t fix it with less screws than you took out, you’re not a pro.
This saying is best lubricated with some mind medling substances to help not care too much about consequences.
“Meh” should be a beer brand.
Aaaaaand whaddayouknow!!
It is.

Wow missed that a full day of adjusting and re-adjusting the sensors due to constant alarms. Of course I went solely with the Assembly Video! Thank you for this thread. Just went back and did moved the stops and the machine appears to be working perfectly. Thanks Sincerely. Feeling like an Idiot.
