Order Process Priority

A bit confused at how Sienci processes orders. I ordered my machine as well as the gcontrol panel. I’m pretty sure I recall paying separate shipping for the gcontrol panel. My assumption would have been that if it’s being charged separate shipping it would ship ASAP, not with the machine. I see that other orders that were placed after mine have shipped.

Is it the end of the world? No, but makes me feel like paying extra shipping isn’t really fair if it’s just going to ship whenever Sienci sees fit.

The cost to ship an item is not related to when the item ships. I’m fairly certain that if the items are ordered together, they will ship together such that the related warranties for the items start at the same time. This avoids the warranty for the gpanel being up before you even get a machine.

I’m sure if you contact customer support and let them know you’d like your gpanel ASAP they could make that happen.

It just struck me as odd that they would charge a separate shipping charge for the gcontrol panel when everything was ordered at the same time. And the ETA on the order status page is not the same as the actual machine. I believe they are actual shipping by two different methods, presumably Canada Post isn’t an option for the machine. Machine UPS, gcontrol panel Canada Post.

Hey Mike,

A few years back I ordered my longmill together with the laserbeam unit. I cannot check if true but I remember the order page for the laser unit stating that it would arrive in a seperate shipment. The laser unit came early, the machine got stuck at customs.

I’m pretty sure the remark on tne laserbeam order page looked the same as the remark on the gControl unit.

I’m in Canada so fortunately won’t have customs to worry about. It was a large factor in my decision given the tariff uncertainty right now.

Not sure how they prioritise shipments but I ordered my Altmill in early February and my gControl in early March. I received my gControl in early April and should get my Altmill in a few weeks. I would have accepted both at the same time but glad I got my gControl from the current batch.

I would have to say that there is absolutely a lower cost to ship an item when ordered with another larger item. If you’re shipping a 5lb tablet with a 300lb machine that the tablet basically would ship for free in that order. For whatever reason I had to choose shipping options separately for the tablet and pay, I believe around $20 just to ship that. So my expectation would be that I would be receiving that in order sequence, otherwise why am I paying this extra $20 for something that would basically travel for free with the main order?

Because it’s not traveling with your main order. At the level of production and output Sienci has, their engineering team has to do a lot work designing the packaging for an item as large as the ALTMILL. Their logistics team likely has done the work for shipping costs related to that exact package. Different SKU = Different Item = Different Shipping.

I imagine it’s not as simple as taking the tablet and poking it into a random box. It’ll come on its own. I believe there has been communication in the past to the tune that they try to ship them around the same time frame if ordered together such that the warranties align. If you want it to ship ASAP, contact them and they can likely accomodate that.

Ordered an AltMill early January. Received the gControl in March. Altmill shipped 4/30… Today I received the T-track… the rest is in transit, some still stuck in Canada in a warehouse.
