Pause and start process

I’m using Longmill MK1 with Gsender. I’ve got a pocket carve coming up that is 330 minutes. There is lots of little corners that requires the use of a small bit (1/32). I’ve got four of these to do, ties up a lot of hours just for that part of the project.

I’m wondering if there is a way i can stop/pause that carve one day and continue on another?

Are you using multiple bits, a larger one to rough it out and then the small one just to do the corners or are you doing it all with the small bit?

That wasn’t exactly an answer to your question but if you are doing it all with the small bit you might save a lot of time.

Another option is to break the really long toolpath into manageable sized jobs if possible.

gSender does have a start from line feature but I’m not experienced with using it because I avoid having to pause a job overnight like the plague.

I use the start from line function in gsender regularly. When I stop in the middle of a job I note down the start from line then completely shut down the following day I restart, re-zero, load file a nd use start from line function. I always start a few lines previous to the stop line. The process is described in the gsender documents on sienci main site.
