Hi gSender Team,
I’ve been using gSender for my CNC projects and absolutely love the interface. However, I have some suggestions to improve the Pendant functionality, specifically for those of us using tablets as secondary screens. My goal is to make the tablet feel like a true extension of the desktop software rather than a separate remote.
Proposed Improvements:
-
Simultaneous & Automatic Connection: The pendant should connect simultaneously with the desktop software. Instead of a separate login or manual setup, it should ideally “handshake” with the active desktop session to provide a seamless dual-screen experience.
-
Continuous Jogging: On the current pendant, jogging can feel “staccato.” I suggest implementing continuous movement when a jog button is held down, matching the behavior of the desktop version.
-
Synchronized Settings: The pendant should automatically inherit all Jog settings (increments, feed rates, and axis configurations) from the desktop. Users shouldn’t have to reconfigure their preferences on the tablet if they’ve already set them up on the PC.
-
**“Mirror Mode” UI:** The ideal experience would be almost like mirroring the desktop UI to the tablet, optimized for touch, so the workflow remains identical regardless of which device I’m touching.
Questions for the Developers:
-
Implementation: Based on the current architecture of gSender, would a highly synchronized “Mirror-style” pendant like this be possible to implement in a future update?
-
Auto-Leveling: Is the Auto-Leveling feature currently on the roadmap, and is there an estimated timeframe for its release?
Thanks for the amazing work on this software!
