Probe Electrical Hook Up to SLB

Hey gang

I have a probe that did the z,y,x however it has 3 wires plus the ground to spindle. Looks like the slb will only accept a 2 plug. which 2 wires should be hooked up. I have red, black and blue. I believe blue is the comm ?

Hi MArk,

Without knowing what probe you have itโ€™s a bit impossible to say something about it other than imagining it has a led indicator of some sorth. If soโ€”>

It is possible for you to find out what is what using the Diagnostic tool in Calibrate tab. For the probe to work, you need at least the ground to spindle wire connected to one of the pins. The other one is prolly the blue but can also be black (the blue possibly being the gnd for the indicator led.)

You simply connect one of the suspected wires to the remaining pin at the probe connector, connect the spindle ground to the probe and if in Calibrate/Diagnostic the probe pin turns green, you have the wire you need. If not, try another wire, untill you get the green light.

Disclaimer: Please note I run gsender V1.2.2 and that my screenshot may, no will look different than what you get.

It was off my old open builds cnc ordered with machine. it did Z,X,Y probing.

Thanks i will try that.

Hey Mark,

I have looked a wee into the openbuilds xyzprobe and it seems that itโ€™s this here unit.

Here youโ€™ll find aditional info on how to connect it to a two wired system.
