Problems with my longboard or gsender

You’re in luck. There’s a manual to guide you through the setup.

Hope you get it to work.

I gone over the settings for the Ethernet and adjusted some numbers in the controll panel Ethernet connection with no luck of it connecting. Wired directly from the slb to my desk top

@Jordan2500 That’s an odd one. As long as you have set a static ip address in gSender and set an IP range in windows that includes that address, it should connect. You do need to power cycle the SLB, which I figure you have done.
I suggest opening a support ticket with Sienci. They can connect to your PC and find the issue.

That’s the first time I’ve heard that they are able to connect to my computer. I’ll have to wait until this week to get ahold of them. I’ve exchanged over 20 emails with Jason and have yet to come up with a solution. Whenever I send in my diagnostic report it’s always missing the firmware file. I have also powered it down after messing with the Ethernet settings

@Jordan2500 Keep in mind that I said that they CAN connect, not that your situation requires it. I’ve not heard of anyone having issues with connecting through ethernet. With respect, I’m inclined to think that the issue is with your Windows settings, and not with gSender. That said, I am not tech support so that opinion is worth exactly what you paid for it. :grinning:
If you have already exchanged 20+ emails with Jason, clearly you have had more than your share of issues. With any kind of luck, addressing this most recent one will not be too difficult.

I having this same problem I have changed the cable and computer, and software but still having the problem get half way though a job and it disconnects. really need a fix

Hey Harold,

Assuming you are still running the lb that came with your longmill, and assuming it has ran without issues, the question I always ask myself when something goes bad, what changed? Mostly, when you can answer that question, you find the problem.

Ofcourse, being a unit from 2020, it’s always possible you have ware and tare. Being a connection issue, look at the USB connectors at the lb and your pc. Check if the arduino is seated snuck.

If all that checks out, have a look at the issue page for the lb. It might help homing in on your problem.

I really havent done anything different. I just finished running 15 conversion boards with no problems. They wouldnt long runs, just 5 different runs. Maybe thats it, I have in the passed ran longer jobs with no problems. Just wondering if the controller is going bad?

Has anybody had any luck flashing their board , I’m hesitant to do it. One new problem that has occurred is that I when I do my probe connectivity test it does
not connect. When I open up gsender it automatically connects to com 5 instead of com3 like in the past before the new slb. And the workspace is zoomed way out

I’m not sure if this file will load but it’s my firmware settings

You have two slb, they both don’t work. You say you have had these problems for at least 4 to 5 years.

The first slb is how old now? 2 years?

It sounds like your problem is not the controllers. Why try something sienci warns not to do without at least some knowledge on what you are doing or to do it under sienci supervision.

Are you willen to accept a regretful outcome. Do you realise what that means?

It might be wise to not risk voiding warranty on something that is unlikely to be the problem.

If the problem you have is a constant over different cnc machines and different controlers the question to ask is, what is the factor that does not change?

I do not know the answer to that question, but I don’t think it’s the latest controler.

I had a openbuilds lead 1010 that I purchased used from someone and it never really worked properly, disconnect all the time or didn’t cut the project close at all. Then I bought the beginners package longmill and have used now 2 slb and still have the connectivity issues. I’m not gonna flash it I’ll just wait to hear back from customer support. Did anyone have a chance to look through the file I uploaded ? Like I said I’ve used 3 different computers and haven’t had any luck
