I am used to my other machines that have a slider to reduce the rapid speeds during a program on the fly. I’m aware of the firmware method but that reduces the rapid across the board.
@Nbratt Welcome and congrats on your first post! Not quite sure what you mean. Do you have anymore details? What are you trying to do by chance? Slow down the spindle mid job perhaps? Also, I hope your machine doesn’t bite you, since in your title you say its Rabid =).
@Nbratt You posted this under Vectric but I’m assuming you want it under gSender? Can you confirm the sender your are using, and the version?
As @Karver_One said, you can change the spindle and feed speed on the fly in gSender. As far as I know, you cannot change the speed for the rapid movements.
So what I’m saying is that on a typical controller, you can adjust the spindle speed, feed rate, and rapid rate by a percentage of the programmed value while running the program. When proving out a new program, you don’t want the machine to move from point a to point b at 590 IM until you know that everything is correct. Say a clamp is in the way or whatever.
You can do the first two with a slider in gSender.
@Nbratt Depending on the CAM software you use, you may be able to define exclusion zones that your mill will go around. Vectric vCarve allows that.
