Just set up my Longmill 48 x 30 and was doing fine when the machine started skipping and not returning to Zero after either an Outline or would mess up in the middle of a job by moving a little and carving over stuff already done - ruining the job. It seemed to be in the x axis only. When I investigated the problem I started (as suggested by Sienci Labs) by checking all the assembly points on the X gantry (tightening, loosening anti-backlash and Derlin nuts, the V wheel tension, etc. ) to no avail. So, software was suspected and I investigated the Firmware noticing that it was set to a MK2 30 x 30. I reset that to the MK2 48 x 30. Now I can’t zero the axes, can only jog at a snails pace, and if I even try to run a job, the machine only moves in a small area - much smaller than the job is supposed to be. In short, my machine is useless. I’m waiting on Sienci Labs to respond but thought I would seek help here. Any takers?
@Bilbo7207 Welcome to the group, Bill.
I’ve moved your post to a category that better reflects your issue. I would like to edit the title, too. However, before I do that, could you please clarify what model of Long Mill you have? Do you have a Mk2 or a Mk2.5? The 2.5 runs on the new Super Long Board and grblHal. The Mk2 runs on the Long Board and grbl.
