My AltMill arrived as most do ahead of the spindle. I’ve gotten everything done up until spindle installation and since the spindle won’t arrive for another week I wondered if people had just continued building and wiring to make sure all the axis motions worked without the spindle then gone back and installed the spindle, or if that’s going to be a giant pain to do and I should just be patient?
@gremlin That shouldn’t be an issue. In gSender, under the spindle choices, just leave it to SLB_Spindle. You’ll be able to run files without the spindle. If you have a pencil attachment, you can trace some stuff out. You can also run it with a router if you have the proper mounting bracket.
The biggest pain will be reopening the clips for your drag chain.
