Solidworks+Cut3D+Altmill

Hi,

I have solidworks for modeling. Considering Cut3D for CAM but I downloaded the trial version and don’t see an option for Altmill nor grbl. Which post processor do I use for the Altmill?

Also, since I have SW for modeling I’m thinking I just need Cut3D instead of Vcarve. Any input regarding that combination is welcome.

I apologize if this question is answered elsewhere. I have waded through the resources and all I see is that it should work but no specifics on where to find a grbl post, nor whether cut3d is sufficient if not having to model in the CAM software.

@Jburt Welcome to the group. I have no experience with solidworks, so I’ll leave that to others.

I just looked on the Vectric site and they list the Altmill as a machine supported in cut3d. It may be that post processors don’t show up in the trial model because you can’t actually cut anything with the trial. I know that you cannot cut with any of the other trials. It may be a good idea to contact Vectric.
