Spindle and closed steppers

So, I just installed the sienci spindle and closed loop stepper motors on my one year old Longmill Mk2.5. I watched the videos and the printed installation instructions (multiple times).

The problem I have is that the spindle won’t turn on. As you may have guessed, I get the alarm code 14 whenever I hit the start button in Gsender. I have tried the start sequence of turning on the vfd-controller-gsender to no avail. In Gsender I have chosen (395 Default spindle) setting H-100, and (476 Spindle 0 ModBus address) to 2.

There is also an error code: Error 1- Expected command letter . One other thing: in the controller, only one led is flashing. I believe there should be 2 that are flashing.

I’d appreciate any advice on this issue, as I am not very savy when it comes to this software.

Thanks

Hey Jack,

Welcome back to the forum. I have wondered how it was going with your mk2.5 and zi now read you are upping your game. Good going. I am curious how your journy is going and what awesome things you habe made so far. Maybe after fixing this problem you can share some of the good stuff?

Anyhow.. You have surpassed me big time with your fancy steppers and even more blingy spindle. I don’t know much about these things but to maybe nudge you into the right direction with a link to something you might haved missed?

Did you follow the instructions on this page? I tend to like written manuals more than video, for the written ones tend to include more detailed info.

Hope you get the thing running fast.

Hey Eddie,

Thanks for getting back to me. Yes, I have gone thru the written word as suggested, and still came up with the alarm code (very frustrating). I will go back and try it again slowly and methodical in case I screwed up somewhere (a distinct possibility). Appreciate the suggestion; if I can’t get get it right I’ll have to bother the help desk for possible solutions.
