Spindle collet wrenches?

I have a brand new Altmill and I’m finding that none of my existing wrenches properly fit the collet nut and shaft. Can someone please point me in the right direction to get these tools.

Thanks in advance.

Mike

I purchased mine from Amazon.

I am confused - if your Altmill was purchased with a spindle, you should have gotten a set of wrenches.

If you have two of these you might be able to work things out for the time being. Measuring the beaks when they fit best will give you a good indicator on what wrenches you need.

Maybe I should have gotten wrenches, but I didn’t. All I have is that multi-wrench tool that came for assembly of the machine.

I can use adjustable wrenches and I am right now. I just wanted to buy a little bit better tools for that operation.

Thanks

Mike

Once you diled in the adjustables, you can measure the width of the clamps and know what wrenches to get. If I look at tne pictures of the 1.5kw spindle unit with an er20 collet I find this picture.

Found here:

And with a bit ‘o’ luck someone with an altmill chimes in and might give some more useful information on their wrench set.

If you didn’t get wrenches in the spindle box (not the Altmill packaging) then contact Sienci. The spindle comes with two wrenches, three collets and a collet nut.

I sit corrected - if you got the ER20 spindle you get 4 collets.

I have never ever seen a spindle or router that didn’t come with two (cheap) wrenches.

Update: I looked on the Sienci site and found that the Makita router explicitly states collet wrenches but there is NO mention of wrenches with any of the spindles. If that is in fact so, then I am rather disappointed. I have no idea what could have gotten in their minds to sell a spindle with collets but no collet wrenches. I choose to think that Sienci has more brains than that and it is just ass-um-ed that collet wrenches come with the spindle.

My ER16 spindle certainly included two collet wrenches.

Looking at the Altmill listing, it doesn’t mention a power supply, there is no mention of a power cord for the power supply, it doesn’t mention various wrenches and allen keys , it mentions the inductive sensors but there is no mention of sensor cables and there is a whole bunch more things that are not listed but they came with the Altmill …..

Just to clear things up, After pouring though everything I did manage to find two flat wrenches marked 22 and 16 on them. These fit the spindle. Sorry for the confusion.

I’m assuming these are 16mm and 22mm respectively. I’ll measure them for a double check before I buy some nicer wrenches.

Thank you, everyone.
