Spindle weight of 2.2Kw

have a mk2 w/extension kit. Can it handle the weight of a 2.2Kw spindle without sagging? Thank you, bob

@bobblack1 I don’t know from personal experience. Sienci says the following for your machine:
" Router / spindle: can run in 15000 – 25000 RPM range with reliable speed feedback, 0-5V PWM control for spindles. Router / spindle cannot exceed 2.7kg (6 lbs)."
The 2.2Kw spindle weighs about twice the recommended maximum. It’s noteworthy, I think, that on the store page for the 2.2 kw spindle, only the Altmills are listed as machines to add it to.
FWIW, IMHO, I believe you are asking for problems if you go ahead with this.

@bobblack1 You’re welcome. What are you running now vis-à-vis router/spindle?

I had the Longmill MK1 with the 48’ Extension with a 2.2Kw Spindle and it was able to hold it no problem with no sag.

I have since upgraded to Altmill MK2 with the same spindle, but the Longmill worked flawlessly, I just needed the 4x4 space

I have a 2.2kw air cooled spindle on a 48" MK2 with no issues
