gSender allows the max value to be smaller than the cut depth. Shouldn’t it give a warning, error or change the max value to be equal to the cut depth ?
it miiiiight be that this has caused one of my first surface jobs using gsender to spiral down into the wood, making it my worst whoops so far. Never ever used gsender for surface again because I never figured out what went wrong and that is need to know before going back.
Never seen anyone post a spiral path produced by gsender surface tool, so I still don’t know. Quite frankly, producing custom shaped surface jobs is a breeze with vcarve so even if I would now know what went wrong, I prolly wouyldn’t go back to using gsenders tool.
But it is still there… trying to feed.. in the dark void that is the back of my head, and it wont starve!
The reason I noticed is that I had put a cut depth of 3mm and a max of 1mm, thinking it would do three passes at 1mm. But it plunged straight down to 3mm on the first cut. Luckily, it was in soft cedar.
This is a good suggestion, we’ll add some validation and make it clearer to the user.
