Got a tramming gadget. I am seeing that my router is cockeyed diagonally. My front left is about .17β lower than the back right.
I moved the machine to different spots. Flipped the mdf around and the tramming tool. Same results.
Surfaced spoil board. Y rails are dead on parallel.
What are the screws to adjust?
Cant find a good tramming video specific to the longmill. Idc woodcraft kinda has a good one but only address the z movement left/right and not front/backwards. I see many others asking for a good video on this.
Welp. I shimmed it. Its freaking perfect. BUT it is putting too much pressure on the lead screw. Guess I have to let some of it out and live with it a little angle.
Yeah. It didnt seem right. You can see my green business card as the shim. Not exactly sure where you mean I should shim. Where my finger is pointing on the long screws?
I would not try to shim in the location you are showing. I think you will get better results shimming the router mount. See the yellow line on the attached picture (either the top or bottom depending on which way you need to go). This mount is attached with the four screws shown in the second picture. I also recommend that you only measure with your tramming tool along the x and y axis as this is where you can make adjustments. If those are spot on then everywhere should be also. Also, any shim thickness you place on one side of the mount should be duplicated on the other side. Hope that helps.
After i got the other adjustments done, i still have a slight forward/backward issue. For me a small piece of aluminum foil got me zeroβd in. It only is on the top half of the mounting screws, thus tilting it forward slightly.
