I’m a newbie using VCarve Pro with my AltMill. I’m doing basic 2-D stuff. I’m trying to figure out how to run two endmills for one toolpath without adding much time. Does VCarve have a feature where I can use a 1/4" end mill to clear out a pocket and then follow it with a 1/8" end mill to clean up the finer detail around the edges of the pocket without the 1/8" bit doing the entire pocket over again?
I don’t have VCarve anymore but it didn’t have anything like that at least that I knew about.
Maybe do the pocket with a 1/4” and then do a profile, on the inside with the same depth, with an 1/8” after. You might be able to do that in one toolpath with a tool change but I’ve stuck with separate toolpaths for each bit so I don’t know how.
I finally figured it out. If you add both bits to the toolpath, VCarve figures it out on its own. Duh!

@horsiedad You beat me to it. As you have seen, you can add as many tools as you want to the pocket toolpath. VCarve will automatically create separate toolpaths for each tool, each one only cutting what the previous, larger one, could not reach.
