Vertic Software

I’ve purchased the VCarve Pro software. I also bought the rotary attachment for the AltMill. Will I need to upgrade to Aspire?

No, not unless you want to create your own STL files. Pro can run STL files, but can’t make them.

So if I’m purchasing a completed file Pro will do, but if I want to design myself, I’ll need to upgrade?

As far as I know, vcarve pro can do everything it can on a flat surface on a rotary plane too.

If that is enough, than you don’t have to upgrade. If you want to do 3D models, vcarve pro does not allow creating only importing.

This tutorial goes into depth. It’s on version 11 so if you have a newer version, yours can do this too.

VCarve Pro can’t create STL files but it can import them. But vCarve also has an extensive library of proprietary 3D files that you can use.

As for the STL, you can create those with Aspire or various other software programs. Blender is free. Fusion Personal also.
