What about the fixed v wheels on the top

I have been watching some different cnc videos and notice some with the Fixed v wheels at the top of the gantry and the adjustable on the bottom, actually seems to make sense to me, any good reason that our long mill setup is the opposite, just curious for the reasons.

I have wondered about that too. I’ll be watching for the answer…

Thanks for asking for us.

This has been asked a few times and I cannot find an answer.

I can think of a few reasons why it would be better to have the eccentric nut on the bottom but not really any reason for them to be on the top.

If you tension one set of wheels you lever the whole gantry affecting tension on the other 3 wheel sets.

When you adjust the wheels by the top you move the whole gantry up and down.

Seems like it would be easier to tension if it was done by the bottom and the top were static.

Probably a good reason but just wondering.

Thanks.
