I have been using my Alt Mill for 6 months. Yesterday my machine stopped toward the end of a job with an Alarm 10 Vectric Post Revision. Clear and reset. I have cleared and reset numerous times. Checked for any obstruction, unplugged and plugged in all motor connectors on motors and in longboard. I can move x axis and z with no errors . The second I try to move the y axis it stops. Any suggestions?
@Scott2 Is it gSender that is displaying error 10?
Can you clarify your reference to “vectric post revision”? Where are you seeing that?
I’m with @gwilki on the Vectric Post Revision part. I looked up grblHAL error codes and 10 is a soft limit error if it’s coming from grblHAL.
If that is the right error code then I would double check your Y Max travel in gSender under Config Homing/Limits to rule that out.
EDIT: You said alarm not error! Alarm 10 is e-stop but I don’t see why that alarm would only happen on Y.
check your soft limits switch in the firmware is on or off. if it’s on, turn if off to see if the problem goes away. I and a friend have run into wierd stopping situations with the soft limits. we have tried changing the limits and always has problems jogging so we run the machines with the softlimits switch to off.
