Hi CNC community, I’m having a nightmare with my LongMill 48x30. The issue is that the Z-axis seems to be inverted. When I hit Z+, it goes down, and when I hit Z-, it still goes down, sometimes even when I try to move it up.
Here’s what I’ve tried so far:
Resetting the firmware
Manually adjusting the Z-axis
Inverting the Z-axis in the firmware
None of these solutions have worked so far. If anyone can help, I’d really appreciate it!
@Billindy hello! Welcome to the forum. Good folks, sound advice. So did your CNC ever work as designed? If it is since you put it together, I wonder if your z axis plu is turned around. Just a shot in the dark. Keep us updated, and if it is a new assembly and problem, give Sienci Labs a call or send them an email. Their customer service is excellent.
Just a gut feeling, but that sounds like a wiring issue. Make sure your connections at both the board and the Z axis motor are solid, and double check the wiring pigtail that none of the wires are loose in their pins.
Good luck - and don’t be afraid to call Sienci support. Do that today (Friday) before the long weekend though - Monday is a holiday.
