Hello! First post and hoping for some help. I have a Longmill MK2 that I didn’t originally set up, but I’m trying to get it up and running. One very strange (I think) issue I’m having is with the Z-axis.
When I jog the z-axis in gSender, it will only travel in one direction until it comes to the end of its travel, then will move in the opposite direction and continue in that direction until it comes to the end of the travel, regardless of which “direction” I select to jog it in. I can basically hold down the jog button and it will infinitely move up and down as it comes to the end of its travel. There are no limit switches actively connected to this axis so I’m not sure how it “knows” its at the end of the travel. And it is the only axis that behaves this way.
Any ideas what could be causing this?
UPDATE: I did record a video of the behavior which can be found here:
Berry Cast Video of CNC Issue
As you can see from the video, the jogging of the Z-Axis is pretty much a random bag of tricks. The behavior seems to be different each time I jog it. Also notice the coordinates for the Z-Axis. Not sure if that is a clue to what is going on or not.
Please ignore the fact that there is an induction sensor mounted on this axis. It is not plugged into the board.
